Catcher in the Rye . . . Harry Potter . . . Captain Underpants . . .
Every year, there are hundreds of attempts to remove books from schools and libraries. Celebrate YOUR freedom to read and right to choose your book during Banned Books Week, September 30th to October 6th.
St. Ambrose University Library’s Edible Book Festival
Thursday, October 4, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Three simple rules:
1. Entries must be made of food (edible).
2. Entries must be reflective of your chosen title in some manner (e.g., shape, content, title, appearance, etc.).
3. You MUST select a title of a book that has been banned or challenged. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Lists of banned books are available by clicking on links provided on this page, or by consulting printed lists at the Library’s Reference Desk.
Our festivities will include not only edible books but refreshments you will actually want to consume.
Entry drop off: 7:30am-10:00am
Open to public: 11:00am-2:00pm
