‘Read a good book lately? I’d love to know what you thought about it. I’m always looking for smart, contemplative, discerning readers to review what they’ve read so I can make an educated choice about the next classic or detective or romance novel I curl up with on my couch . That’s one reason I really love some of the web based applications dedicated to books and readers. These sites join book related database search with some of the social networking features of sites like Twitter and FaceBook that some of us have grown to love. We LOVE, LOVE this one here at the library. (We’d love it even if a family member of a staffer didn’t work there. :-)) Enter books you’re reading or have read to build your personal library catalog. LibraryThing also connects you with people who read the same things. Registration required. Free.
A site featuring a collection of thousands of free books in full text and audio formats. Registration not required. Free.
