Spinning and Knitting for Social Responsibility:   Tuesday, March 23

  • Robin Anderson, SAU Dept. of Psychology, Janette Ryan-Busch from Fae Ridge Farm, the SAU Knitting/Crochet Club, and Ambrosians for Peace and Social Justice; an informational evening with demonstrations, displays, and items for sale.

Needlework Samplers and Their Stories: Thursday, March 25

  • Eunice Schlichting, Curator, Putnam Museum; a lecture on migration and embroidery.

All Tradition is Change: Tuesday, March 30

  • Laurann Gilbertson, Textile Curator at the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, Decorah; a lecture on the idea of tradition related to textiles, using examples from Norway and Norwegian America: weaving, quilt making, embroidery, and knitting.
