HAND MADE: Exhibit at the Library

Please take a moment to visit the library this week to view two display cases full of marvelous items, gathered and curated
by our own Leslie Bell, Art Professor at SAU.

The display is entitled “HAND MADE” and is a feast for the eyes.

Leslie Bell writes:

“After studying calligraphy for at least 3-4 semesters under Father Catich and John Schmits at St. Ambrose College in the 1960’s, I fell in love with the discipline of hand lettering. Add to that the fact that I put myself through graduate school as an illustrator and you have……the urge to collect articles that embody both of these fine disciplines. The objects on display represent a small fraction of my collection which encompasses children’s game boards, advertising labels, boxes (I have a special fondness for paper and cardboard) and spreads to illustrated children’s books.”
